Wem travelled to Whitchurch for their local derby having won their last six games. Having played Whitchurch earlier in the season everyone was expecting a hard game against a much more experienced team. In the first half Whitchurch certainly put the pressure on playing down the slope and by half time had raced into a 3-0 lead. Wem certainly knew they had to put in a strong second half performance and this they did. Whitchurch added a fourth on the hour but after this Wem came more into the game as an attacking force. Following good play down the right between Sam, Kim and Rosie the chance fell to Alix to score with a low shot. In the growing gloom of a foggy day the second half lasted an incredible 66 mins due to numerous injuries in a fiercely contested game which led to a number of players struggling near the end. No further goals saw the final score Whitchurch 4 Wem Wanderers 1.
