Whitchurch 0-0 Ludlow

After last week thumping of Albrighton this was never going to be easy. Ludlow haven't had the best records against Whitchurch in the past but Ludlow are playing with confidence at the moment but the news that Lisa Preece and Becky Gallagher are out for at least 6 weeks and Stevie Cook and a number of other players unavailable it was never going to be easy.Ludlow started comfortable and had the better of a nervous Whitchurch, but you could see Whitchurch starting to build up steam as the game went on. Kerrie Taylor tested the keeper midway through and the keeper held on to the shot just above her head. Kelly and Pip also tried their luck.Whitchurch also had their moments particularly looking dangerous at corners. We lost Caroline George to a knee injury in the first half (another) but we still looked strong at the back.Second half was much the same, but Whitchurch were looking dangerous towards the end of the game as some of the Ludlow players began to tire, especially Lucy Matthews on the wing in her first game of the season. But Ludlow stayed strong at the back and Lorna James in goal kept Whitchurch at bay if they did break through, Katy Huntbach made the tackle of the game as Whitchurch striker went to pull the trigger inside the box, Katy's timing was perfect as the ball went for a corner.Unfortunately a back injury to a Whitchurch player brought the game to an end early as the ambulance was called, but a well deserved point for Ludlow to maintain their unbeaten start. The injury's keep coming for Ludlow, as a knee injury to Caroline George, an ankle injury to Donna Powell and a foot injury to Kelly Jones. We were down to our bare bones before the game, the physio has a lot of work to do for next week's game against Bridgenorth as it doesn't get easier.Well done Ludlow our 1st point at Yocking's Park
