Whitchurch Alport Ladies 6  Bridgnorth 0

The Ladies got the New Year off to a bang with a very solid performance, against Bridgnorth on Sunday at home. Straight from the kick off they set about putting the visitor's under pressure. It was no surprise when Emma Lewis opened the scoring with a good finish. Passing the ball on the floor was the theme for the rest of the half with Emma Lewis and Dominque Soler completing the scoring for the half.
The second half continued with Alport putting the presure on, but Bridgnorth worked hard to stem the flow. Amanda Marston was taken off with a back injury after having a good game at right Back. It was left to Emma Lewis to get the first goal of the second half to complete a well deserved hat trick and round off a fine game, all the more pleasing was the fact that she is starting to get back to the high standard of play we have come to expect after a very tough period with injuries.
The goal of the game was scored by Domique Soler who chipped the keeper from just outside the box. Lucy Ratcliffe completed the scoring to finish off a man of the match display, after her non stop running, even with man FLU !.
So a number of positives to take from the game, scoring goal's is fine but you have to be solid at the back and once more Alport looked tight with Captain Hannah Thomas controlling the team. Stephie Bratton slotted in on the right hand side and contuie's to settle into the squad.
Sam Kehoe also returned to the squad on Sunday and looked like she had never been away.

Sunday the Ladies travel to Ludlow for a cup Q/Final which will be a stern test if the league game is to go by.
