Wem Ladies 0 Whitchurch Alport Ladies 3

The Ladies opened there league  season with a solid  win at  Wem  on Sunday.  Wem, playing up hill first half kept players behind the ball giving Alport the  oppurtunity to continually put them under pressure. Playing good football on the floor, Alport produced a number of chances, either just missing the goal or finding a keeper in fine form.Emma Lewis caused problems with her strong running but had no luck as she hit the bar twice. Alport finally got the break through when Kerry Walker cut in from the left to beat the Keeper at the near post.Just before half time, Sam Kehoe ran through to score after great work by Emma Lewis.
Although going up hill second half,  Alport continued to keep the pressure on. Just like last season when Wem did go forward the well drilled defence, cleared up and set up througher attack's. Kerry Walker completed the scoring going in brave on the keeper at the far post.So a solid perfomance, against  a young hard working Wem side who kept going to the end and will only get stronger as they settle in to the League. Overall a good solid performance from Alport, with the whole squad playing well. Major concern was Kerry Walker going to hospital with a knee injury, although early reports now show she will be back earlier than first thought. Player of the Match Domenique Solar.
