WEM V LUDLOW 16TH DECEMBER 2007
We agreed to meet at 12.00 midday for the journey up the A49, at 12.20 were still waiting for Pip to arrive but arrive she did only 25 mins late, but off we set with 1 player to pick up in Stretton we should till be on time. As we approached Church Stretton a black cat crosses our path, I've heard it said that this is a sign of luck, but unfortunatly not for the cat as a renault megan travelling south bound, collided with it.
As cat lovers we stopped and turned around and laid the poor moggie to rest on the verge, as no-body else seemed to be bothered about the poor cat. I have now got a car full of traumatised players but with 3/4's of the journey left, they'll soon get over it.
Were now making good time and with Shrewsbury by pass still to come things were looking good but strange things started to happen, as the car keeps vering to the left, is it the ghost of the Stretton puss! Who no's but it gets no better and the real culprit is soon discovered, a flat front tyre. It's not a easy operation changing tyres when on the way to a football match, because in the boot, training balls, first aid kit, cones, drinks bottles, kit bag and also the players boot bags to off load before you know the spare is fully inflated or not, thankfully it was, and after 8 mins, i was changed and we were on the way.
Can anything else go wrong!
What about the game? I hear you ask we lost 5-0.
Thanks Wem for the food and a Merry Xmas to all in the league.
A Special Merry Xmas to all at Ludlow Ladies.
