WEM WANDERERS 2 BRIDGNORTH 1
This promised to be a close game between two young teams and so it proved. Wem struggled to get into their stride early on against a well organized visiting team. Clear cut chances were few and far between but it was Bridgnorth who took the lead on 25 mins with a well placed low shot. Wem were restricted to long range efforts and at half time trailed 0-1. A couple of positional changes at half time saw Wem much more of an attacking force. A number of breaks saw good crosses played across the visitors goal but the finishing touch just wasnt there. However, on 65 mins Wem drew level when Kim Rutter who was pushed forward from right back broke down the wing, cut in to the area and beat the keeper with a powerful shot. Wem were now on top and on 75 mins Liss Pharo hit a shot which was deflected past the keeper to give Wem the lead. Bridgnorth went close a couple of times but Wem held on to make it two wins in a row. A game played in good spirit with both teams playing some lovely football. Full Time 2-1.
