TGLFC showed just how healthy they are looking with the season just 2 weeks away with a spirited performance against a youthful and talented Wolves side.  Yes the result will read that Wolves won 5- nil and deservedly so, but what it won't show is what a team performance this was by the newest Telford side, who look really together and are not scared to put up a fight.  Ami Crump particularly impressed in the first half with some darting runs down the wing, not to be out done, Jade Hill on the opposite wing proved that attacking play will hold no fear for them in the league. Skipper Lou Smart put the Wolves defence under pressure on several occasions with some neat footwork, followed by some impressive shots on target.  Vicky Harper excelled in her midfield role, her precision tackling halting too many Wolves attacks to mention, and Nikki Mason, who joined the club recently, proved that she can make a big defensive contribution to the club this coming season.  As the game went on and substitutes were entered into the game, the manager will have seen that he has a wealth of talent to utilize next season, and it will be interesting to see who his starting eleven will be on the 2nd September.

 

Wolves played some lovely flowing football, and Richardson in particular simply excelled, capping a classy performance with the final goal towards the end of the game.  The strike was top drawer and had supporters from both sides applauding its brilliance.

 

A great day was had by all despite the wind and rain, and TGLFC looked at home in their new School Grove home.  The season, for me anyway, can't start soon enough.
