Ludlow Town Ladies 1 Whitchurch Alport Ladies 2 AET

Alport Ladies went into this League Cup game with the bare bones of a squad with several key players missing but came away with a super win against all the odds to book there place in the League Cup final for the third year running. On arriving at the ground Alport where informed that they would have to play on the plastic pitch, with the main pitch empty. On looking at the state of the players legs after the game, I will stick with the option football as a contact sport should be played on grass. The game started with Alport passing the ball around well but where unable to find the killer ball, Emma Lewis starting for only the second time this season caused a number of problems but came up  against a strong Ludlow back.Ludlow where always a threat on the break but it was Alport who took the lead when Dominque Soler with her left foot opened the scoring. The wind was a problem for the Ludlow defence and this was the case second half when Alport had to defend against it. Mel Fisher had to pull off a number of saves as Alport got pinned back and it was no surprise when Ludlow levelled the scores. The introduction of Lauren Dicken solved the problems down the right as Alport settled down and got back in the game. On 70 minutes Emma Lewis had to come off with Jessica Garmston taking over up front. With no more score it was extra time to split the sides.
Alport lost the toss and had to defend against the wind for the first half but held firm turning around level. Straight from the kick off Alport pushed forward with a great run by Sarah Field only for her to be taken out in the penalty area, the penalty was taken twice with the keeper going down well at the post to push the ball away.Alport pushed on for the winner and finally the ball fell to Jessica Garmston in the box and she made no mistake to slot the ball home and give Alport a great win.
Overall an outstanding result for the Ladies with almost all the team carrying  knocks as they came off the pitch, a great team performance lead by Captain Amanda Davey who once more was outstanding even playing all extra time with a knee injury.
So for the third year running the Ladies have a Cup final to look forward and the chance to hold the League Cup for the third year running.

Prees under 16 girl's 2 Ludlow 1

Prees went into this game knowing nothing less than a win was needed as they pushed the league leaders for top spot. The first half was all Prees but they missed a number of chances, going in o-o at half time. The second half was just like the first until poor defending saw Ludlow take the lead. Prees continued to push and two great finish's from Jessica Garmston saw the points go to the home side giving Ludlow there first defeat of the season and keeping there title hopes alive. This sat Prees ko at 10:30 at home against Wrekin who are also fighting for the title.
