LUDLOW V WEM 14TH OCTOBER 2007

 

Wem travelled to Ludlow having won their last three games. Ludlow kindly agreed to delay kick off due to several Wem players being delayed in traffic. The game started at 2-15 and within 2 minutes Wem were in front when a well placed shot by Rosie Cooper beat the goalies dive. Wem continued to attack strongly and doubled their lead on 15 minutes when Rosie beat the offside trap and despite the goalie saving brilliantly stayed composed to slot home the rebound. The game settled down and chances were few and far between but Wems attack carried the greater threat. HT 0-2.  The second half was again keenly fought with to Ludlow keeper pulling off several good saves and as the players tired the game chances were missed by the Wem forwards. FT  LUDLOW 0 WEM WANDERERS 2.

Many thanks to everyone at Ludlow for the excellent facilities and food after the game. Kevin Powell deserves a special mention for virtually running the Ludlow team single handedly as well as doing several jobs on match days.

SUNDAY 21 OCTOBER WEM AWAY AT SAHA

 

After a delayed start it was Ludlow who were quickly down a goal, so it was tough from the start, we seem to be doing this every game recently. After 15 mins we were 2 down an uphill struggle on flat pitch is an understatement but slowly we came back into the game but missing a golden chance 5 mins before the break it was never going to be. The second half was better from our point of view, but Wem looked comfortable for most of the match,if we had taken that chance just before half time it may have unerved Wem and given us more belief, but on the day Wem deserved the points.
