Match report by Lou Smart

Spartans Ladies continued to increase their lead at the top of the table with a win over Ludlow United.  Spartans got off to an impressive start with the majority of play in the opposition's area.

In the absence of Rebecca DOWNING, Vicky HARPER demonstrated her versatility as she adopted the role of centre back, always looking confident when the home side attacked.

Jo BUTLER netted a screamer early in the first half to get Spartans underway.  It wasn't long before PERRY and KAY also found the back of the net.  Kiri POPE at left back has been outstanding in recent games and today was no exception.

The second half saw a slow start for Spartans who seemed to be lacking something.  The weather conditions were appalling but that didn't dampen the spirit Ludlow.  They battled hard and pulled two goals back in quick succession.

It was a shaky time for Spartans who needed all the experience of captain PERRY to lift them and will them on to finally sink the winner.  The final score 4-0 to Spartans.

Scorers:

PERRY x2
BUTLER x1
KAY x 1

Player of the match for Spartans:  Kiri POPE
