BRIDGNORTH V DUDLEY UTD RESERVES

22ND FEBRUARY 2009

Bridgnorth Spartans Ladies continued their winning streak on Sunday, winning 6-0 against a strong Dudley side.

With several players out injured Spartans wondered how they would fare against this strong powerful side.  The game started well for Spartans with both SORBOM and SMART having several early attempts on goal.

Dudley made the home side battle for every ball and it certainly was an energetic display from both sides.  Gemma KAY for Spartans was in fine form, winning almost every ball in the centre of the park.  The combination of BEAMAN, HARPER, KAY and HUDSON in midfield proved too much for the visitors as they struggled to penetrate through to the defence.

The visitors never gave up and were not going to make things easy for the home side but at half time Spartans were 3-0 up and seemed to gather strength and pace for the second half.  A further three goals came before full time, making the final score 6-0, another great result for Bridgnorth.

A big thankyou to the Dudley Manager for helping Lou Smart when she suffered a neck injury.  A well fought match by an ever improving Dudley side.

Player of the Match for Spartans is Gemma Kay
Scorers for Spartans are Gemma KAY, Anna SORBOM, Leonie HUDSON x 2, Rebecca DOWNING and Lou SMART.
